Raccio Racing made its first trip to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Dirt Duels, and it turned out to be a day we won't soon forget.
For Anthony, Loudon presented a new challenge behind the wheel of the Dirt Midget. Unlike the banked dirt track at Bear Ridge where he has been gaining experience, Loudon is a flat track, requiring him to adjust his driving style and learn a different way around the track.
As luck would have it, Anthony pulled the pole position. But with this being his first time racing at Loudon, he made the decision to give up the front-row starting spot and start at the rear of the field instead. The goal for the day was to learn the track, get comfortable in the car, and gain experience.
Practice went well, and so did his heat race. With each lap, Anthony continued getting more comfortable with the car and the track.
By feature time, that progress was showing—especially on the restarts.
Anthony consistently hit his marks when the green flag flew and took advantage of opportunities in front of him. On one restart, he went from 14th to 11th before the first lap was complete.
Starting 17th in the feature, Anthony stayed competitive, avoided the incidents happening around him, and continued working his way forward.
When the checkered flag flew, he crossed the line 9th—eight positions ahead of where he started and a top-10 finish in his first race at Loudon.
The finishing position was exciting, but so was seeing Anthony continue to grow and adapt behind the wheel. Loudon gave him a different type of dirt track, a new challenge, and another opportunity to build his experience—and he made the most of it.
